PARFORCE: Partnership for virtual laboratories in civil engineering

The strategic partnership within the framework of the Erasmus+ strategic partnership for digital education program (2021-2023), is created among Bauhaus University Weimar (BUW), Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), University Aveiro (UA), University Osijek (UNIOS), and University Ss. Cyril and Methodious in Skopje, Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology (IZIIS) under the project entitled “PARFORCE: Partnership for virtual laboratories in civil engineering”.

PARFORCE aims at developing a joint platform for digital/virtual laboratory experiments to support European civil engineering higher education, and thus, making an essential contribution to the understanding of teaching materials by students. The main objective of the project is to make various laboratory experiments available virtually, which are not a part of standard education at each university but are carried out at specialized institutes.

The target groups are civil engineering students in Europe, teaching staff at partner universities, and university and faculty communities.
The results and experiences of the proposed project will be presented at various national and international events in the form of presentations and publications.

Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje is part of an EIT-funded project for boosting innovation and entrepreneurship

Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Domains of Digital Transformation, Circular Economy and Sustainable Development

We are happy to announce that Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje is part of the PROMETHEUS project – one of the 23 projects selected as part of the Pilot Call for Proposals which invites higher education institutions (HEI) to design activities that will improve their entrepreneurial and innovation capacity.

The project is an initiative of five higher education institutions (HEIs) and three research centres and enterprises, funded by the EIT’s HEI Initiative: Innovation Capacity Building for Higher Education. It aims to develop and share their innovation and entrepreneurship support capabilities in the area of digital transformation related to circular economy, climate change and sustainable development.
The initiative is part of the EIT’s 2021–2027 EIT Strategy, and aims to help higher education institutions to build the capacity to innovate and to teach innovation and entrepreneurship. More specifically, the initiative aims to encourage these institutions to look at their own practices and develop concrete actions to increase their impact on their ecosystems.

As part of this project, UKIM is working together with the following partners:
  • University of the Aegean − Research Unit, GREECE, project lead
  • University of Twente, NETHERLANDS
  • Sapienza University of Rome, ITALY
  • University of Patras, GREECE
  • National Research and Development Institute for Food Bioresources, ROMANIA
  • European Regional Framework for Cooperation, GREECE
  • Crowdpolicy, GREECE

The objectives relate to fostering institutional engagement and change, and to developing innovative services for innovation and entrepreneurship. They are as follows:
